What a wonderful Tango Show on the beautiful Catalina Island! This trip was beyond my expectations Thank you to my amazing crew: Tinto Tango Trio - Mariano Dugatkin, Dino Durand, Pablo Medina, and my partner Dennis Cante. Your passionate souls and talent are priceless. Thank you to the Catalina Island Museum for the invitation to your gala, celebrating Charlie Chaplin's 125th Birthday. This island has such a healing friendly vibe, I felt like I was in another county, not just 40 miles away from the California coast. Spending the rest of today exploring the island. Thinking of making this island my second California home. Feeling so Blessed for this opportunity and being a Dancer Happy Weekend Everyone!!!
Got to see Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights" as part of the Catalina Island Museum Silent Film Benefit at the beautiful Avalon Casino Theatre, accompanied by a 39-piece orchestra conducted by the famed conductor Richard Kaufman - watching a movie with a full live orchestra, omg this was truly a treat! I was blown away by Chaplin's entertaining genius, from his acting, mime, facial expressions, comedic timing... even his body movement was comparable to that of Baryshnikov's character acts. And can't believe he even composed his own music and got behind the camera too. There is so much to learn and appreciate from this incredible historical film icon. Feeling even more honored that I got to perform to one of his songs as part of the benefit. Happy 125th Birthday, Chaplin! You will continue to inspire billions for generations to come. The "Chaplin & Goddard: A Secret Love Affair" exhibit runs through Sept 28 at the Catalina Island Museum.
